Earthwork pits of possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the west of New Barn Farm, Yarcombe. The western of the two adjacent earthworks is sub-circular in shape and measure approximately 26m in length by 23m in width. It is possibly defined on, and so likely pre-dates, the Parish Tithe map. The earthwork to the east is irregular in shape and measures approximately 40m in length by 23m in width.
