A possible medieval to 19th century track is visible as an earthwork cutting, with associated bank, on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southwest of New Barn Farm, Yarcombe. The linear earthworks are northeast to southwest aligned and comprise a cutting, approximately 90m in length by 10m in width, which is partly flanked along its northern edge by an earthwork bank. The function of these earthworks is largely unclear, although it seems reasonable to argue they represent an earlier section of track, joining up the trackways at either end as shown on the Parish Tithe map of between 1838-48. This section of track, however, appears to have passed out of use by this time.
