A possible former field boundary or trackway of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards, and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Watchford Farm. The two parallel and linear banks are northwest to southeast aligned and are spaced approximately 8m apart. The double banked earthworks may be associated with the network of trackways shown here on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of the 1880’s-90’s, or alternatively a former field boundary which corresponds closely to that to the southeast. Since the visible earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping, they probably had passed out of use prior to the late 19th century. The Parish Tithe map mosaic of approximately 1838-48 is incomplete here, so it is not possible to determine whether the field boundary or trackway was extant by this time.
