Former field boundaries of between medieval to 19th century date are visible as earthwork banks and ditches and as cropmarks of levelled banks on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards, and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Knightshayne Cottage, Yarcombe. The field boundaries are linear in shape and broadly north to south and east to west aligned, although those to the east are more curvilinear in shape and northeast to southwest aligned. They are visible across an area of approximately 25 hectares. The majority of the field boundaries do not correspond with any field boundaries depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping. This supports the interpretation that these field boundaries had mostly passed out of use prior to the mid-19th century.
