An earthwork pit, visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947, is interpreted as the remains of a post-medieval extractive pit that fell out of use by the late-19th century. It has probably been reprofiled in the late-20th or early-21st century for reuse as a pond.

No features are depicted in this exact location on the available historic mapping and it is interpreted as a post-medieval extractive pit that became disused by the late-19th century. A pond is depicted in this location on the modern mapping, corresponding to a clear-cut earthwork visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, but covering a slightly different area to the earthwork visible on the 1940s photographs, suggesting that the hollow had been recently reprofiled.
