Field named as Mount Field (Plot 966) on the Northam Tithe Map and Apportionment.

Field named as Mount Field on the 1838 Northam Tithe Apportionment. There is another field of the same name to the north-east.

The name Mount Field may indicate the presence of earthworks, possibly dating to the Civl War.

The presence of earthworks was not confirmed by preliminary fieldwork. However, it was discovered that field nearby was called The Lookout.
