Stone marked.
Wilkin, W. H., 1930 - 1931, Axminster Turnpike Trust, 176-7 (Article in Serial). SDV338769.
The Deed of the Axminister Turnpike Trust of 1795 allowed for the repair and widening of the road between Fair Mil and Straightway Head. On the north side of the road, about 200 metres east of the 9th milestone is a stone marked 'Here ends the Exeter Trust'.
