The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 100m in length by 50m in width. The earthworks correspond with a copse depicted here on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of the 1880’s-90’s, the trees likely being established within the pit following its abandonment by this time. A cluster of smaller pits visible to the southwest MDV118889 were recorded as separate monuments.
