A possible former extractive pit of post-medieval to mid-19th century date is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014, within Greyborough Copse, Culmstock. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 52m in length by 27m in width and is located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded during this survey. The visible earthworks are located within a copse depicted here on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map. This copse, albeit much reduced in size, is also visible on the Ordnance Survey 2017 MasterMap, as are two ponds which closely correspond with the earthwork pit.
