An irregular earthwork, circa 50 metres across, is visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s, and a slightly larger area is visible as a dark cropmark on more recent aerial imagery. An area of scrubby ground is depicted in this location on the available historic mapping, and it is interpreted as a post-medieval or early nineteenth century extractive pit, that has been levelled since the mid-20th century.
