A curvilinear bank or scarp up to 10 metres wide, flanked by a possible ditch on its eastern edge, was visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016 and aerial photographs of 1971 as a low earthwork to the east of Buttermoor Copse, Yarcombe parish.
The earthworks have been interpreted as evidence of a possible field boundary. They do not corresponded with any boundaries depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey but are located in an area of enclosure characterised as being medieval in origin.
They are interpreted as evidence of a boundary of medieval origin, possibly a continuation of a boundary from the south, that had been removed prior to circa 1880.
