Five curvilinear ditches up to 5 metres wide and between circa 25 and 65 metres apart were visible on aerial photographs of 1971 and digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016 as earthworks to the south-east of Buttermoor Copse, Yarcombe parish.
The earthworks have been interpreted as possible former field boundaries between circa 20 and 160 metres long. They do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey but appear to form part of a regular roughly north-west to south-east field pattern. They have been interpreted as boundaries probably of medieval origin cleared prior to the late-19th century.
