A curvilinear bank less than 4 metres wide and up to circa 115 metres long was visible on aerial photographs taken in 2000 and digital images derived from lidar captured between 1998 and 2014 as a subtle earthwork south of Stotehayes Farm, Membury parish. Narrow hollows or ditches run along both sides of the bank.
The visible earthwork does not match any boundary depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey although it was broadly in keeping with the historic character of the surrounding field pattern. It has been interpreted as evidence of a former field boundary, probably of post-medieval origin, that was removed prior to the late 19th-century.
