The visible earthwork corresponds with an area defined by a dashed line.

A roughly triangular pit circa 33 by 50 metres in size was visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
The visible earthworks did not correspond with any features explicitly depicted as a pit in this location on the 19th century mapping available to the survey, but did match an area marked as a small copse. This might support the interpretation that the visible earthworks are the remains of an extractive that pit had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century. The earthwork remains obscured from view by dense vegetation.
