Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.
A linear hollow was visible as an earthwork and cropmark up to 5 metres wide and 130 metres long on aerial photographs of 1947 and digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, west of South Waterhayne Farm, Yarcombe Parish.
The earthwork may partly be evidence of a former field boundary as depicted on the OS First Edition 25 inch map. However, the earthwork diverts southwards some way from the boundary and might also be evidence of a former trackway or road, potentially of post-medieval date, possibly a continuation of that at its west end that leads to the road immediately to the north.
