Two possible pits were visible as earthworks.

Two possible former extractive pits were visible as conjoined earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014; a roughly circular pit circa 45 metres in diameter appeared to cut or abut a reverse D-shaped pit circa 60 metres long.
The visible earthworks did not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the 19th century mapping available to the survey. The curvilinear earthworks were however broadly in keeping with the historic character of the surrounding field pattern, extant and relict.
The visible earthworks are interpreted as the remains of extractive pits that had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century.
