A former field boundary of potential medieval date is visible as two earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2008, on west facing slope to the north of Cordwent’s Farmhouse, Clayhidon. The possible field boundary is sinuous in shape and broadly north to south aligned. The northern extent of the earthworks are shown as a field boundary on the 1838-48 Parish Tithe map, although the remaining portion of the earthworks are not shown on this map, suggesting the field boundary had evidently largely passed out of use by this time.
