The earthworks are located within land parcel 230 which is recorded as ‘Orchard’.

Possible tree-planting banks of a former post-medieval to 19th century orchard are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1971 and digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2008, south of Ringdown Cottage Farm, Clayhidon. The earthworks are part located within land parcel 230 on the 1838-48 Parish Tithe map which is recorded as ‘Orchard’ on the accompanying Tithe Apportionment. The earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established for increased soil depth and improved drainage, are northwest to southeast aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.34 hectares of southeast facing slope.
