Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Curvilinear banks between approximately 2 and 10 metres wide visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
The visible earthworks does not match any boundaries depicted on the 19th or early 20th century maps available to the survey, which depict these plots as rough pasture, although they were broadly in keeping with the historic character of the field pattern to the north; the southernmost bank is probably a continuation of a curvilinear depicted boundary. A small area of possible ridge and furrow survives as very slight earthworks within the enclosed area at circa ST280056.
The visible earthworks have been interpreted as the near levelled remains of former field boundaries, probably of medieval origin that were removed prior to the late 19th-century.
