Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Curvilinear banks were visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured from 1998 to 2014.
The visible earthworks partly correspond with boundaries depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but all elements, excluding those depicted on the current OS MasterMap, have been transcribed to aid interpretation.
The relict banks are in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern which has been characterised as medieval enclosure based on strip fields by HLC. The banks are therefore interpreted as evidence of former field boundaries of probable medieval date that were removed in part prior to the mid-to-late 19th century.
