A curvilinear earthwork bank was visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured from 1998 to 2014.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey, but do mark the edge of an area of rough ground shown on the Tithe Map for Membury. The bank is interpreted as evidence of a former field boundary of medieval date, probably a continuation of that to the south, that was removed as part of post-medieval or 19th century boundary changes.
