A circular pit approximately 15m in diameter was visible on aerial photographs of 1971 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, on the slopes to the east of Little Crawley, Membury parish. The pit is possibly enclosed by an earthwork bank up to 4 metres wide around its south-eastern edge. This may be composed of spoil from the pit’s excavation. The date and function of the pit are unknown.
