'California' is depicted on the late 19th century historic map (not shown on the Tithe map) as a row of four cottages to the south of Rosehill.
Rowe, J., 1989, Horrabridge As It Was, 15 (Monograph). SDV276013.
California Cottages are mentioned by Rowe as being occupied by a number of families during and immediately after the First World War, including the Halfyards.
