South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Not shown on 19th century Meavy Tithe Map.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Faint outline shown on 19th century map. Map object partly based on this source.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1880s 25inch First Edition map but do correspond with an area depicted as rough ground.

Environment Agency, 1998-2017, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution) EA: South Devon Coast to Dartmoor, LIDAR SX5564 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 31-MAY-2017 (Cartographic). SDV361470.

A curvilinear bank is visible as an earthwork.

Berry, N., 2005, Archaeological and Historic Landscape Survey of Lower Cadworthy Farm, Meavy, Devon, Sites 66, Site Distribution Map, Site Summary, Site Inventory (Report - Survey). SDV360144.

Remains of a small sub-circular enclosure situated in the north-east corner of Field Number 808 on the Tithe Map. The lower boundary of the enclosure is a substantial earthwork circa 3 metres wide by 1 metre high. An entrance has been cut through the bank on the west side. The enclosure is circa 25 metres east to west and 13 metres north-to south. It is roughly shown as an area of scrub on the 1886 map. This may be an important Prehistoric earthwork part of a larger complex incorporating features in the field to the north.

GeoInformation Group Ltd, 2010, 1:625 2010 Colour (12.5cm resolution) (Aerial Photograph). SDV346026.

Possible outline visible on aerial photograph.

Environment Agency, 2011, LIDAR data JPEG images (2 metre resolution) (Cartographic). SDV348634.

Small enclosure visible on Lidar image on the south side of the field boundary. Map object partly based on this source.

Ordnance Survey, 2017, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV359962.

Not shown on modern mapping.

Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2019-2021, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 2, Avon Valley to Plymouth (AI&M, formerly NMP) (Interpretation). SDV362982.

Earthwork banks up to circa 3.5m wide are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, defining an oval enclosure approximately 21 by 11m in size, in the north-east corner of a field, approximately 400m north-east of Lower Cadworthy Farm.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the 19th or early 20th century maps available to the survey but do appear to be aligned on field boundaries of probable medieval origin and correspond with an area depicted as rough ground on the Ordnance Survey 1880s 25inch First Edition map. This might support the interpretation that the banks survived into the late-19th century as earthworks of sufficient size to limit agricultural improvement.
The banks have previously been interpreted as potentially of prehistoric origin. However, the possible relationship with the surrounding field pattern makes an interpretation as medieval boundary banks more convincing, potentially evidence of a small compound associated with a deserted settlement in this area.
The banks have been transcribed as part of the surrounding field system (MDV127081).
