Depicted on the Sourton Tithe Map; plot number 981; 'Higher Yards and Garden (Wood Gate)'. Rectangular building shown on the map.
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Unchanged from the Tithe Map depiction; building measures approximately 9 metres by 5.5 metres.

Barn shown on Tithe Map and later maps. Extended to the north-west between 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. Modern extensions to south-east and north-east sides. Formerly associated with late 17th/early 18th century Woodgates Farmhouse (MDV33814), which is Grade II listed. Barn not inspected but in 2017 reported to have a galvanised tin roof and to be in poor condition.
