Linear banks were visible as low earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs of 1947 and 1971 in a field at the junction of Homeclose Lane and Huntley Lane, to the south of Huntley Farm, Chardstock parish. The relict earthworks are probably the remains of former field boundaries sub-dividing the rectilinear field into four roughly equal regular plots. The smaller plots adjacent to Homeclose Lane may be slightly raised, possibly evidence for use as building plots. The visible earthworks do not match any features depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey and had therefore been cleared prior to the 1880s.
