Parallel curvilinear ditches, under a metre wide, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 in fields to the north and west of Bingley Farm. No features are depicted in this exact location on the early-20th century mapping. They are aligned approximately along the contour, dropping less than circa 5 metres along their 60 to 160 metre lengths. The features are interpreted as the remains of a former catchmeadow gutters of post-medieval or 19th century origin that went out of use by the early-20th century. Those north of the farm may have operated as an integrated system, mixing water with manure to fertilise as well as irrigating the land. The two ditches south-west of the farm appear to rise at each end and seem to have been fed from a watercourse at each end. Some of the features are still visible on aerial photographs taken in 2002.
