A former field boundary of probable post-medieval date was visible on aerial photographs of 1971 and 1996 as an earthwork bank circa 50 metres long and less than 3 metres wide, crossing the north-west-facing slopes south of Orchid House, Burridge, Chardstock parish. The visible bank does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the historic maps available to the survey and was therefore probably removed by the late 19th century. The former boundary is identifiable as a very slight bank on aerial photographs of 1996 and might survive as an earthwork. The bank is partly obscured by a mature tree, possibly grown out hedge planting.
