A former field boundary of probable post-medieval date was visible on aerial photographs of 1996 as an earthwork bank circa 65 metres long and less than 3 metres wide, crossing the south-west facing slopes south-west of Burridge, Chardstock parish.
The visible bank does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the historic maps available to the survey, and was therefore probably removed by the late 19th century. It is in keeping with the character of the surrounding historic field pattern, predominantly orchards, and might have been a continuation of a boundary to the north-east.
The bank was not identified as an earthwork on later images available to the survey and may have been levelled.
