Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

The remains of parallel ridges circa 5 metres wide spaced 7 metres apart, measuring from the centre of each ridge, were visible as subtle earthwork banks over an area of circa 0.2 ha on aerial photographs of 1971.
The banks fall within a larger plot depicted as an orchard on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 6 inch map. The visible earthworks are therefore interpreted as the remains of banks made for fruit tree planting and improved orchard drainage, dating possibly from 18th to early 19th century.
The banks were not identified as earthworks on later images available to the survey and have probably been levelled.
