A curvilinear bank almost 300 metres long and up to circa 11 metres wide is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1948, to the south of Marsh, Yarcombe parish. The visible bank does not correspond with any features depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map, but it is in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern. The bank is therefore interpreted as the remains of a field boundary, possibly of medieval origin, that had passed out of use by the late 19th century.
