A curvilinear bank and flanking ditch almost 140 metres long and up to circa 6 metres wide were visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1948, to the south of Marsh, Yarcombe parish.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map, but fall within and are in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern. The bank and ditch are therefore interpreted as the remains of a field boundary, possibly of medieval origin, that had passed out of use by the late 19th century.
