Full description
Webb, P., 1995, The Pubs and Inns of Ashburton, 40-41 (Monograph). SDV347208.
Seven Stars, East Street.
This inn existed up to the 1850s and was on the upper corner of Woodland Road and East Street. Mentioned in the 1851 census but no further trade directory entries exist after 1857. Destroyed by fire in Victorian times, it was rebuilt as two private dwellings. When the north-eastern property (the Ark health food shop) was having floorboards renewed in the back kitchen area recently, the original drains of the latrines for the public house were found.
