The late 19th century historic map shows the cottage, with attached yard. Not shown on the Tithe Map; appears to be a blank space.

Farley's Cottage SX67935947
Remains of a small cottage noted during survey works. Large areas of the north-western wall and particularly the north-eastern gable are still upstanding. A huge fallen oak tree has demolished and subsequently obscured the other two walls. Appears to be post-medieval in date, although the site probably has medieval origins.
A suspiciously thick, short length of wall (1.0 metre high by 1.0 metre wide) running north-east to south-west to the north-east of Farley's, accompanied by a small rectangular area of level ground adjacent to the south-east, suggests that another structure, possibly a farm building, may have stood next to the cottage. This, along with the ancient trackway leading to the site from the Cheston to Owley road, suggests it may have been a smallholding. May have been used as a shelter for tin workers.

Ordnance Survey, 2017, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV359962.

Ruined remains of the cottage and associated walls depicted on the modern mapping.
