Full description
Everett, C., 1978, Archaeological Survey of Some Woodlands Within the Dartmoor National Park, 13, Map 13, OP20 (Report - Survey). SDV360464.
One of 24 pillow mounds identified within Olderwood Plantation. This is one of a group of smaller, oval shaped mounds in the south and south-eastern section of the wood. These are thought to be earlier in date than the better-defined, oblong mounds in the northern sector of the plantation. Quite likely to be more, so far, unidentified examples.
OP20 SX 5274 6647. Large low oval mound. Measures 20.0 metres by 9.0 metres by 0.6 metres high. No sign of a ditch could be found. Planted over. Orientation south-west by north-east.
