Full description

Everett, C., 1978, Archaeological Survey of Some Woodlands Within the Dartmoor National Park, 13, Map 13, OP21 (Report - Survey). SDV360464.

One of 24 pillow mounds identified within Olderwood Plantation. This is one of a group of smaller, oval shaped mounds in the south and south-eastern section of the wood. These are thought to be earlier in date than the better-defined, oblong mounds in the northern sector of the plantation. Quite likely to be more, so far, unidentified examples.
OP21 SX 5318 6662. Oval mound. Measures 10.8 metres by 6.6 metres by 0.2 metres high. Very low mound and no ditch was discovered. Planted over. Orientation south-west by north-east.
