The north shippon forming the north range of the farmyard at Standon Farm. The 1840 Tithe Map shows a rectangular building which was probably a barn. The present building probably dates from 1870. It is now a shell with no internal fittings and currently used as accommodation for troops. The dimensions are circa 15 metres by 4 metres with four granite corbels supporting A-frames for the roof. Three doors on the south side open into the farmyard and there are three windows in the north wall.
A chamfered stone close to ground level is built into the external west wall at the north-west corner of this northern shippon. The stone is 1.2 metres long with a vertical face of 0.17 metres. It would appear to be a worked stone fragment from an earlier building, perhaps part of a window.

Ordnance Survey, 2015, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV357601.

Rectangular building on the north side of the yard shown on modern mapping.
