A series of four parallel ditches are visible as crop marks on aerial photographs (p1) and were digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. Their date and function are uncertain; one possibility is that they are cultivation marks. The features lie within an area classed as C15th to C18th ‘Barton’ fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
