Summary

A sub-circular shaped earthwork mound is visible on aerial photographs of 1947, at Crossroads Farm, Lewtrenchard Parish. It has been interpreted as either a post-medieval spoil heap derived from small-scale quarrying or a Bronze Age barrow.

A subcircular mound, 14m in diameter, is visible on aerial photographs (p1) and was digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. The date and function of this feature are uncertain: it may be a spoil mound resulting from small-scale quarrying. Alternatively, given its hill top position, it could be the remains of a Bronze Age barrow.
