A removed field boundary is visible as a crop mark bank on aerial photographs (p1) and was digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. Traces of ridge and furrow are also visible; to the south of the boundary as low earth banks, to the north as crop marks. The features lie within an area classed as medieval enclosures based on strip fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon and are likely to be medieval or later in origin.

The medieval ridge and furrow mentioned elsewhere within this record more likely represents evidence of improvement ridge and furrow, a 19th-20th century practice of the mechanical ploughing of ground for the improvement of drainage and or areas of rough ground. This monument record has accordingly been double indexed to reflect this.
