Summary

Row of three cottages between two listed properties (numbers 62 and 70). Probably contemporary with these 17th century houses, with later alterations. Rendered walls and slated roofs. Two dwellings shown on historic maps; the northern one later subdivided into two small cottages.

Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Tithe Map shows these buildings; 1629 on apportionment ('Houses, yard and garden, West Street').


Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Late 19th century historic map shows these buildings; appears to be two dwellings at this time. The northern part appears to show one larger dwelling with rear outshot. Southern building is a basic rectangle shaped dwelling.

Three middle cottages of this terrace depicted on the modern mapping. Northern two are fairly small and appear to show the larger dwelling depicted on the late 19th century historic map has been subdivided, into two much smaller cottages at some point in the modern period. The southern one is slightly larger, although may also have been altered.
