A series of cultivation marks, similar to straight, narrow ridge and furrow, are visible as low earth ridges on aerial photographs (p1) and were digitally plotted as part of the NMP. The marks are likely to be post medieval, possibly 20th century, in origin. The features cover a large area of the southern stream valley side at the northern fringe of Whiddon Moor, stretching from SS 45812 in the west to SS 47201 00721 in the east. For the most part the features lie within areas classed either as rough ground or as rough ground showing signs of earlier use as agricultural land in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
