A series of drains, running along the southern side of the stream valley between Four Shilling Moor and Hole Cross bridge, are visible on aerial photographs (p1) and were digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. Some survive as shallow ditches (two as low earth banks), whilst others are visible only as cropmarks. The drains extend from SS 47923 00919 in the north west to SS 48557 00435 in the south east. The features lie within an area classed as rough ground in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
