Full description
Wall, J. C., 1906, Ancient Earthworks (Article in Monograph). SDV341465.
Smythapark a simple defensive enclosure Iron Age Class C. A simple plateau raised above natural ground eight feet on southeast but ploughed down to three feet on northwest.

At southeast end of east sloping promontory. Earthwork under crop, apparantly near circular glacis type bank and divided by modern field bank to the north of which earthwork is weak and much ploughed down, and to south maximum width of glacis bank is 8.0 meters and maximum height 1.2 meters.

Enclosure comprises a weak bank now visible mainly as outer scarp with shallow outer ditch or berm. No evidence of entrance. Enclosure "A" with the linear earthworks "B" to the west & linear earthworks "C" around the northwestern corner of the hillfort.
