A mound, 23.5m in diameter, is visible on aerial photographs (p1) and was digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. The mound is also shown on the 1st Edition 1:2500 OS map. The date and function of this feature are uncertain but it is likely to be a spoil tip resulting from small-scale quarrying. The features lie within an area classed as medieval enclosures based on strip fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
