A complex of ditches is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (p1) and was digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme. It is possible that some of the ditches are trackways of uncertain date, but far more likely that they are a series of drains, probably post medieval or modern in origin. The main ditch runs in a roughly east - west direction for 700m. Other ditches are aligned at right angles to this main ditch. The complex extends from SS 45746 02068 in the west to SS 46861 02109 in the east. The features lie partly within an area classed as C18th and C19th post-medieval enclosures and partly within an area classed as rough ground in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
