Earthwork ridge and furrow is visible on aerial photographs (p1). It is located within an area described as 'Park or garden' for Devon’s Historic Landscape Characterisation; this suggests that it is within the northern part of Stevenstone Park. It is possible that the ridge and furrow pre-dates the designed landscape of the deer park; it is likely to be of medieval or post-medieval origin. It has been digitally plotted as part of the National Mapping Programme.

The ridge and furrow mentioned within this record by Young & Turner more likely represents evidence of improvement ridge and furrow, a common 19th-20th century practice involving the (mechanical) ploughing of ground for the improvement of drainage and or areas of rough ground. This monument record has accordingly been indexed as narrow ridge and furrow so as not to be confused with ridge and furrow typical of the medieval period.
