Four parallel ditches are visible earthworks on aerial photographs (p1) to the south-west of Simmons. These features are considered likely to be of post medieval origin, possibly fragments of leats or drains associated with a catch-meadow irrigation system. The features were digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme and are sited within an area described as medieval enclosures based on strip fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
