A series of bank and ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (p1) in fields to the south and east of Southcott. They are considered to be field boundaries and a trackway of medieval or later origin and were digitally plotted during the National Mapping Programme. The features are sited within an area described as C15th to C18th ‘Barton’ fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
