A series of ditched field boundaries forming part of a removed field system are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (p1). They underlie the cultivation marked described in PRN 167752 and are considered likely to be of medieval or later origin. The features are sited within an area described as C15th to C18th ‘Barton’ fields in the Historic Landscape Characterisation for Devon.
